Josh is making some kind of intricate cupcakes that involve a bunch of butter fingers and I’m fan girling him while he’s in the kitchen.
Swoon!

French Onion Soup
I think French Onion Soup sounds like a hard thing to make, but in reality, once you have the few steps memorized, you could do this in your sleep and trust me, it’s so worth the end result. You can do it, here’s how:
![add all these together in a big stock pot and turn on low [just one bay leaf will do] and about one of the small cans of water to the mix.](http://adoramae.com/wp-content/uploads/photo-3-11-900x675.jpg)
add all these together in a big stock pot and turn on low [just one bay leaf will do] and about one of the small cans of water to the mix.
![when the onions are slightly translucent add them to the big pot [spooning them in is the least messy way to go about it] and bring the whole thing to a boil then set to simmer.](http://adoramae.com/wp-content/uploads/photo-5-2-900x675.jpg)
when the onions are slightly translucent add them to the big pot [spooning them in is the least messy way to go about it] and bring the whole thing to a boil then set to simmer.
This is seriously the best soup you’ll ever taste and this is enough to make maybe a dozen bowls. Make it for someone you like, because after they have this, they’re going to like you a WHOLE lot. Let me know how it turns out!

Sometimes all you need…
A look back at my wedding
Thank you to my amazing friend, and brilliant photographer Andy Delva, who came up here and took pictures when this low budget mess was going down. He gave me amazing shots even when I told him we didn’t want to stop and pose for anything. Without Andy, I would have had no pictures of this day at all. Thank you also to my amazing, creative, and hard working friends & family who enabled us to throw the whole shebang for under $2000.00 (dress and suit included). Especially my sister, who made my bouquet when I told her no flowers, iced my cupcakes, sewed yards of bunting, made my garter, crafted the bridesmaids headbands and even made Josh’s Boutonniere and countless other things. Finally, thank you to my husband Josh for taking my “make something out of pallets for the stage” statement and turned it into a piece of art that was perfect for our wedding.

The night before our wedding I get a text from Josh asking “Will this work?” I still think it looks like magic.

I found these cake toppers from 1988 at goodwill the week after I got engaged. They were $1 and I loved them.

cupcakes that my amazing friends baked in mass, and then my talented sister iced and decorated in record time after they were in place
And now, if any of you haven’t seen it before…once again, here is the video Josh put together of our day.

A bit more than 6 seconds…14 seconds
Apparently people now think “vine is dead” so I present to you, an Instagram video that our friend Luis made of Josh. I guess we finally put our 8mm projector to use…

My go-to work outfit
This is probably my number one go-to work outfit. I wear this combo more than any other. It’s simple and comfortable, but the dress holds its shape enough for me to feel professional. I’ve worn this dress from Old Navy about once a week for over a year. These are the shoes I wear most days to work. Through a series of uninteresting events, the dress code for shoes where I work has gotten bizarrely strict (shoes alone takes up 3 color pages with photos in the dress code manual). Anyway, these bad boys (from rack room shoes) fit within the strict guidelines for flats, and unless I’m getting fancy, they’re on my feet every day. My Owl pendant was a gift from my sister for Christmas, and word on the street is she got it on the cheap off amazon, and my prescription glasses will run you around $10 at zennioptical.com.
What’s your most worn ensemble?

Chats from the Past: Episode 3
Occasionally I stumble upon past G chats or Facebook messages between myself and a friend or Josh, that at the time were probably sincere, but now are just too funny.
Conversation with the beautiful Lindsay Lee Barta that took place on July 1st, 2011 over G chat:
Lindsay: I don’t even want to live in our world anymore because I love the Hunger Games trilogy so much.
Me: LOL
Lindsay: I feel like I did when I was 14 and obsessed with NSYNC.
Me: I’m going to read it now, I can’t take it!
Lindsay: Good! I need someone to show internet memes that only I find hilarious to. (ignore the fact that I ended that with a preposition please)
Me: Ignored
I’m glad I read it.
The Hunger Games actually changed my literary life. This is so right on.

At My Sisters…
At my sisters, I came across these bad boys. They were my Christmas present to Michelle last year and I was so happy that they had found a home in her kitchen! I got all 4 of these at a local Goodwill for just $10. If you haven’t been thrifting lately, get to it. You never know what you’ll find!
