So I sort of hated my plain votive candle and wanted to paint it, but was out of craft paint (I know, I know) – but I did find this old TOMS sticker with my crafts so I popped it on the candle glass… I dig it.

This, my lovely friends, is a life saver. The crock-pot of side dishes. A wedding gift from my mother in law that I’ve only recently started to use. (I didn’t eat a lot of rice growing up.) It is fantastic. A toaster for rice. Go get one. Perfect rice every time. You will thank me.

Last night was a giant mason jar full of Barques root beer, candles lit, insense burning, and Roswell on Netflix kind of night. I loved it.

What started out as me making up a “orangish chicken” recipe off the top of my head ended a little differently. Josh said it was good, but didn’t taste like chinese food. He called it a “Sweet Asian Gravy Chicken” and despite it not turning out as expected, it was actually DELICIOUS. So, here’s how you make it! (Ingredients at the bottom of this post)
Sweet Asian Gravy Chicken
1 pound of chicken breast cubed
Prepared white rice
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup teriyaki
1/4 cup orange juice
Fresh grated ginger if you have fit
Sriracha to preference
1 tbsp. sesame seeds
Mix all together in a bowl and add:
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 cup cold COLD water
Stir stir stir stir
Sear chicken in a pan on Medium
Pour mixed liquids over chicken
Cover and let sit on Medium for 10 min
Stir occasionally as the corn starch will settle to the bottom
Remove from heat & let sit for 3 min.
Stir and spoon over rice over rice
October is already here?! How did that happen? Time to start making things look like fall, though here in south Florida, they’ll never FEEL like fall. Meet my first fall project, Mason Jar lid Pumpkin:
So easy and so cute!
What is your first fall project?

Twenty-six years ago today, the love of my life was born. I’m so incredibly glad.
Josh, thank you for being my best friend. You’re by far the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I want to make out with you forever and ever. You get even more dreamy every day, I love you so much, it’s stupid. I can’t wait to see you get more sweet and more handsome with every passing year as I grow even more in love with you. Thank you for being so incredible, thank you for being mine.

…or maybe Cat people probs? One of our little feline menaces got their claws into my bike tire tube and added a nice little slice into it. Here is Josh discovering that treat.
New tube, nbd. But, I have my eye on those cats of ours!

So with the recommendation of a half dozen of our friends, the hubs and I went to Pho Hoa Restaurant in Tamarac the other night to officially try Pho for the first time. We both got stake Pho, and it was AMAZING. Not to mention the service was insanely fast. Here’s a glimpse of our time there.
Seriously, it’s so worth it. Only about $9 a person and it was a HUGE serving. Make sure you check out Pho Hoa next time you’re near Tamarac!
