Yeah, I’m this crazy

One aspect of my 2016 focus on health has been taking supplements every night before bed. I currently take 3 in addition to my daily vitamin. What’s bothered me for a while now is how messy those pill bottles make my nightstand look. So for a few weeks i’ve looked online for a way to display pills within easy reach in a prettier way (I know, I’m crazy). I can’t just keep them in the bathroom or kitchen because I will legitimately forget about them. Then a few weekends ago, I was at Anthro and came across this beauty and it was like the lightbulb went on, the clouds parted, my wallet opened and I was coming home with a plan. I have to say, it’s working out really well. I don’t have to open 3 bottles every night and to the unsuspecting eye, it’s just a jewelry case. Obviously this wouldn’t be a good plan for a household with babies, but until that day comes – welcome to my pharmacy. Josh said it looks like a drug dealing grandma, and he’s probably right; I just choose to believe that’s really hot right now.

My sweet smart successful husband has been caught up (along with a large part of the rest of America) in the Pokemon Go craze. Normally new video games means I don’t hear much from him for a few days, but this is a totally different thing. He wants to get OUT of the house as soon as he’s done with work. He wants to walk as many miles as he can for some egg hatch something. For years it’s been hard to get him to agree to work out, and now he’s sneakingly bringing my walking shoes and sun screen when we go to brunch so we can walk around afterwards. Yes, he’s catching Pokemon during this time, but we’ve never spent this much time just walking and talking. So partners of nerds PokemonGo players, reframe this if you’re having a hard time with it. Go with them. You don’t have to play, I certainly don’t; just enjoy the season of video games inspiring fitness and long long walks just holding hands… until they have to catch the next Pokemon.

P.S. I will say though, it’s been nearly 100 degrees every day in Austin and some days these outings seriously drain me. LOL

Holy. Crap.

I haven’t blogged in nearly half a year. So, here is my list of excuses/life events for your reading pleasure.

  1. Josh was in a horrible accident that broke his hip and totaled our only car. He had to walk with a walker and spent weeks and weeks in pain doing physical therapy. (He’s better now. Thank You Jesus.)
  2. The Holidays. Imeanwhatchagonnado?
  3. We bought a new (to us) car to replace our demolished XB (RIP Herman)
  4. I went to San Fran to throw Briana a baby shower (see her blog for baby pics!)
  5. I quit my job after 6 1/2 years! (and have yet to find another…whoops!)
  6. We bought a HOUSE!
  7. We traveled to Florida for a wedding that we were in. Twice. As in two weddings.
  8. We went to DISNEY!
  9. We moved into the house we bought (boxes as far as the eye can see)
  10. Josh quit his job and got a new one working from home. In fact, today is his first day.

Anyway, here are some photos depicting the above. I’m pretty determined to get back on here. I have a big house now that will be full of projects, and a lovely new kitchen that needs some breaking in, so I invite you along on this upcoming journey.

BIG BIG NEWS!

I’m beyond excited to announce that my sister, who runs this amazing Etsy store, that I talk about a lot, is moving to Austin! My three nieces, adorable nephew, awesome brother in law and SISTER will live just 30 minutes north of us now! Basically you can expect a lot more heart stopping photos like these in the near future.

I’m so grateful for a husband who loves these babies as much as I do. I can’t wait to see them grown up and become even more awesome.

relaxing in a place we used to call home

The wedding yesterday was a huge success and when I wasn’t crying my eyes out, I was looking around and thinking how the whole thing needed to be on Pinterest. Today, Josh and I are relaxing and seeing some friends. Tomorrow it’s back to Austin and then on Tuesday it’s back to reality. Happy Sabbath everyone!

Some days are just awful

There’s really no way around it. Today, my real job was rough, some people were rude and I felt completely useless and unappreciated. Everyone has bad days. Today was one of those days for me. So, after work I decided to make a crappy boxed strawberry cake and listen to Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell on repeat and feel my feelings.

I hope you had a good day. If not, try baking to this – it might help.

Moving on in…

We woke up this morning in a best western hotel, which was shockingly nice. Went to the bank for a new money order and to attempt to sort out some drama that came along with trying to send our last money order through the United States postal service (never use them if you can avoid it). Then, finally, we went to our new home, signed our lease and got the keys!

Now comes the hard part. Unpacking the u-haul beast. Ugh. Pray for us. Here are some pics of the empty apartment.
