thor thor thor thor thooooor

So, I went and saw Thor with my husband because I’m the best wife ever and I keep it a closely guarded secret that I actually like dude movies (shhh). Anyway, yes it was amazingly well done and had a good amount of love story sprinkled in with all the fighting and war. I walked away from that movie thinking two things: the first is that Thor’s muscles could only form on an alien life-force and the second was that I am seriously lacking in my hand-to-hand combat/sword fighting skills. the women in this movie are amazing!

Not entirely sure how to step that up, something to think about.

bikin’ it

With one car and pizza delivery happening mostly at night, I ride my bike A LOT more these days. I’m trying to get out of the mindset of it being something I have to do, and into the mindset I had when I was younger, when a bike gave you freedom and when you rode, it was like this…
..maybe I just need more dirt roads. Here’s to trying!

Pride & Prejudice

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters”

Re-watching the 1995 (a.k.a. only good) version of Pride and Prejudice today. This is the movie that made 7 year old Adora fall in love with Colin Firth.

bang bang at home (the easy way)

Get your mind out the gutter! We’re recreating Bone Fish’s famous bang bang chicken tonight! With frozen chicken bites – it’s pathetically easy.
bangbangchickenYou need:
Frozen breaded chicken (popcorn chicken or larger pieces that you’ll have to cut up after baking) [bake as directed]
1/2 cup Mayo
3 tbsp Sweet Thai Chili Sauce
Sriracha to spiciness preference
Green Onion
Lettuce

Take the chicken you baked and toss it in the already combined sauces. Drop the saucy chicken onto a bed of lettuce and top with green onions. Serve with chopsticks.
